It goes without saying that when you go vegan you might find yourself in the kitchen more than you did before. I personally love to cook and enjoy spending time in the kitchen. I even noticed since going vegan, I am a more creative chef. Forks Over Knives was my first vegan cookbook and I still refer to it all the time. From pantry staples and basics to food good for the mind body and soul, this cookbook keeps it simple and easy!
Does anyone do vegan comfort food like Lauren Toyota? I think not! I am a huge fan of her youtube channel Hot For Food and this is one of those books that just had to be included! Hot For Food recipes never fails to impress!
I gift this to every new vegan I can and it is always well received! Vegomicon is a book that has more experimental flavors, classics and everything in between. It is hefty though so be prepared to take your time trying all the recipes. Plus, there are tons of tips and tricks, which are super helpful for first time home cooks!
Chloe Coscarelli always comes through! Nothing finicky or fancy about her recipes and they never lead me astray! I love her doughnut recipe and so does everyone I’ve made them for!
This one isn’t a cookbook, but it is a great resource for learning how to pair flavors and make the most of your ingredients! When I am needing some inspiration, I like to look up the ingredients I have and see what flavors they pair well with and usually it sparks a recipe idea. Food is all about flavors and seasonings and this book is full of great inspiration!
